The courtyards of Fez Medina have their sounds and a beat of making - that together resonates to capture the Heartbeats of Fez.
The programme is located in the historical meeting and trading point of the Medina of Fez, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the world’s oldest and largest medina. The competition brief was for the urban design of Place Lalla Yeddouna at the heart of the medina, including the preservation of historic buildings as well as the design of new buildings that would sit comfortably in the traditional urban fabric, to be returned to their users: artisans of metal, leather and zellige.
